National Coal Mining Museum

The National Coal Mining Museum for England is one of the most popular attractions in the Yorkshire area. It is a prestigious project originally opened in June 1988. Newly refurbished exhibitions were opened in April 2002. The Museum provides a unique opportunity to travel 140 meters underground down one of Britain’s oldest working mines.

The National Coal Mining Museum are largely involved in the Project management, Coalfield Management Demonstration and Evaluation study, and Dissemination of the INWATCO Project. The NCMME coordinate all financial aspects of the project and compile the financial reports for EC submission. They will have overall supervision of the hydrological monitoring network, as well as managing the computer control centre where all real time data will be received and transmitted to the INWATCO exhibition centre.
